Paired Comparison Analysis (PCA)
PCA is a tool used to compare different options against each other. Using this tool, you can determine which option is your priority because you compare each option against each other option. Then you rate each item, on their importance to each other option. Finally you find the totals, and there is your top priority.
I used this tool this summer with my mom who is trying to renovate her house. She was have having a few problems getting started. Her top priority was a bit of surprise to her in the end. We made a plan of action for her to complete as she works toward her renovation!

In the classroom, this would be a good way to have students pick which type of assignment they would prefer, or which service learning project they would most like to get involved with. I have attached a lesson plan from http://www.creativelearning.com/creative-problem-solving/free-resources that shows how students would use a PCA to choose which writing genre they are most comfortable with to write a final assignment.

Here is a video on how to facilitate a PCA. It can be done with a large group as shown for each person to determine their own priority, similar to what I would do it the classroom, or it can be done one-on-one like I did with my mom.
