HIGHLIGHTING
Higlighting is a converging process. After ideas have been generated, the best ideas are 'hit'. Then hits that are the same are grouped together with a maximum of three per group, called a cluster. This will help reduce duplicated ideas or hits. After you have clustered the hits, restate the main idea of each cluster. They can either be restated as problems or ideas.
In the classroom, this process would really help with developing classroom rules. There are bound to be duplicate ideas, so this process would cluster them and we can restate the rules as a class. This would also help make the rules belong to a classroom instead of just one or two students.

The video below explains in depth with examples on how to work through the highlighting process. It shows what to hit, reviews the convergent guidelines, and explains the choices after you have finished the highlighting process.
